This support group, inclusive and non-profit, fosters a rich social life amongst homeschool and small school students by organizing sports leagues, dances, games, Karaoke, bowling, pizza or movie nights. We empower teens to take responsibility for fun: to pick the events, decide upon the participants, set rules and select volunteers on this site, even to set up and clean up.

I produce a television show called "Maestro Darrell's Music Workshop" and it teaches children ages 6-9 musical concepts. We explore concepts like rhythm as well as introduce music from around the world. With it is an accompanying curriculum that follows the guidelines of the California Standards of Performing Arts and it is designed specifically for non-musical parents and teachers. Maestro Darrell will teach the lesson and all the parent or teacher needs to do is operate the DVD player or VCR. They too will learn music as well. I have been tutoring students of all ages for about 5 years. I am a college student at a respected Ivy League institution and am available to tutor all of the basic subjects. In particular, I am a philosophy major so if any older student wants to discuss Kant or Decartes, I would love to arrange for that to happen! I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Stanford and have been a private tutor for the past four years. I tutor almost all subjects from 1st through 8th grade, and as a previous homeschooler myself, I structure lessons around the child’s own personal learning preferences, interests, and skills. Offering choices like these promotes a child’s self-efficacy in education, which will not only help them to enjoy the process of learning, but also give them the ability to become an independent learner.

I am a professional tutor in the Bay Area available for students in high school and college math. I have served as Director of Instruction for a tutoring center, and worked with several national companies and tutoring networks providing help to hundreds of students. My previous experience has been in multiple academic subjects including all levels of math, physics, history, literature, writing skills, early readers, and elementary/middle school science.

My approach to math instruction differs from others in that I specialize in math anxiety :). I teach using problem solving as opposed to solely using memorization, which builds great levels of confidence on the part of the student, and allows them to take skills they learn in tutoring beyond their current work to all future classes.
