I am a parent of a kindergartner and 5th grader. I am looking for private tutors to teach my children. They are currently in a private school in Fresno, but am interesting in turning to homeschooling. My fifth grader attended a classical christian school in southern california for one year. This particular Fresno school is not holding up to the standards they originally stated. I am interested in the the trivium and would be interested in someone familiar with Dorothy Sayers..the lost tools of learning and Douglas Wilson. I am also looking for someone to teach my 5th grader Latin. Thank you!

Our family home schools 3 students - I Jr. Hi, 2 High school. We've tried to follow a classical approach, and have benefited greatly from the help of Doug Favelo, whose name is listed on this web site. He's a wonderful teacher (we've studied Latin, Greek, and Medieval Literature with him). We're always interested in pursuing ideas for challenging ourselves and our students to grow in wisdom and knowledge... and would love to dialogue with others who are interested in growing as a community of believers with a Biblical worldview.

Iamlooking for a tutor for my grandson who started kinder this year but the principal thought it was best to keep him home another year. We have tried working with him but its not working, We are looking for a tutor for him.

I have been teaching classical studies (Latin, Greek, history, and literature) for six years now at California State University, Fresno, and I have been involved with the local homeschooling community for about 3 years. I have a passion for training children in the classics, and for educating people on the value of a classical Christian education.

Hello. My name is Doug Favelo, and I offer several classes each semester of Latin (beginning and advanced), logic, and the Humanities in the Fresno, CA area. All classes are Christ-focused, with the subject in particular being a vehicle for knowing our Lord better. As to my qualifications, I have taught in Classics for 4 years at California State University, Fresno.
