Hi, I'm Erika, wife to Chris and mom/teacher/mentor to Zekariah (age 14 w/Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), Hypotonia (low muscle tone), Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Biblical Savant & Ancient history buff), Luke (age 12, w/ADHD, SPD, Dyslexia, poor vision & slight lazy eye, gifted in several areas), & Daniel (age 8, w/Asperger's Syndrome, SPD, Dyslexia, very gifted in several areas & behavioral issues due to perfectionism). I've been advocating, writing & speaking about homeschooling in general and also the specific needs of homeschooling special needs and/or gifted children since 1999. I've also self-published 2 books and am working on my 3rd. I'm interested in tutoring others, teaching in a school and starting a private school. My website will be available soon, which portrays my private ISP & special needs consultations and much more.

Classical Christian multi-age one-room schoolhouse offering grades 2-8. We use a four year looping cirriculum based on an historical timeline. We offer science, history, Bible, Art, Latin, Literature, reading groups, writing programs and memorization program. We are located on a the beautiful campus of the William Carey International University. This school is a one-of-a-kind. There are very few like it in the United States. It harkens back to a bygone era of smaller well-taught, individualized learning schools. We do require parent participation. We meet T-Th from 8-2pm and the students continue their studies at home on Mondays and Fridays.

I have taught 2-8th grade. I have taught all subjects in those grade levels. I have taught special ed., second language learners, regular and gifted students. My goal is to be able to retire from my current teaching job so that I can home school my 2 grandchildren.

I have 30 years of experience teaching 5th through 12th grade public school, and would like to be a guest teacher for groups of students with common interests. Lessons can range from Shakespeare to the Constitution, Theater Makeup to Beginning Spanish, Beginning Knitting, The Miracle Worker, or the American Civil Rights movement. Depending on the age & topic, classes range from one to two hours. Cost for a class of 10 to 14 students would be $100 per hour, but rates for each class would be worked out individually.
