LearningRx, with centers in Mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano provides cognitive skills training for students aged 5 and up. Unlike tutoring, which attempts to reteach academic information that your child should already have learned, our program first identifies the underlying cognitive skill deficiencies(e.g. attention, memory, reasoning,visual and auditory processing,)and then corrects them through our one-on-one brain-training programs. We have several home-schoolers in our programs and offer field trips for home schoolers.

Classical Christian multi-age one-room schoolhouse offering grades 2-8. We use a four year looping cirriculum based on an historical timeline. We offer science, history, Bible, Art, Latin, Literature, reading groups, writing programs and memorization program. We are located on a the beautiful campus of the William Carey International University. This school is a one-of-a-kind. There are very few like it in the United States. It harkens back to a bygone era of smaller well-taught, individualized learning schools. We do require parent participation. We meet T-Th from 8-2pm and the students continue their studies at home on Mondays and Fridays.

Background
My research interests include the following: Composition and Literacy; Literacy as a State of Power; and Cultural Literacy. With extensive experience in assisting others with self-expression, I aim to utilize my degree and future graduate degree to impart knowledge of composition skills. My continuous goal as a researcher and curriculum developer is to find ways to bridge the gap of social inequity between at-risk students and the white collar industry.

The majority of students I have encountered in the last four years come from low- to middle-income families. Their motivation to excel in general education classes has been low, and most of them would be the first ones in their families to graduate with a college degree. My aim is to demonstrate the importance of literacy to them through real-life application writing assignments so they can see the connection between communication and economic power. Through these types of assignments, my personal mission of improving the quality of human lives is accomplished.
