The Golden School offers Classical enrichment programs for the elementary and middle grades.

During the 2008-2009 school year, we will offer free classes in First Year Latin, First Year Koine Greek, Vocabulary from Classical Roots and Ancient History. Enrollment is limited to 10 students per class. See our website for more details.

We are a small Christian classical school near Oak Park/Chicago. We welcome students of all faiths. We teach Latin, and use Shurley Grammar, Spalding's Writing Road to Reading, Saxon Math, and Bauer's History of the World, among other curriculum. We have part-time preschool, and grades K-8.

I am a certified Music Teacher (K-8) in vocal,piano and general music. I am also a classical musician. I have been teaching homeschoolers in my home for the past 3 years. I am certified by the state of Illinois to teach middle and high school English, language arts, reading, and social science. In graduate school, I gained experience teaching middle school language arts and high school English courses. Additionally, last year I served as a substitute teacher for grades one thru twelve. In this position, I implemented lesson plans on numerous different subject matters, and I also worked individually with students as a tutor. During my internship teaching high school English, I designed a science fiction literature unit and used my curriculum development skills on various other projects. I am interested in teaching the classical curriculum, which hinges on the great books, and working individually with students as a teacher or tutor.
