Looking for a private school in or near richmond that teaches Latin and Greek to Elementary Students. I have noticed that the public schools in the area have failed in teaching our children basic english words that have there roots in these languages.

I am a 11-year veteran homeschooler who loves kids and has some interest and talent in the Language Arts. I have taught Beginning and Intermediate Latin to my own 4 children. I have also taught Introductory Greek to them. Ever heard of the Progym? These are the classical style beginning writing assignments. I have used this and the Classical Writing program and would be available for tutoring writing using this approach which also could include intensive English grammar study. I am available as a tutor in these subjects, whether to students that are homeschooled or to ones that are public or private-school taught. The Danville School is a cottage school starting January 8, 2008 in Danville, Ky. Classes will meet Tuesday & Wednesday from 8:30-3:00 & Thursday will be planned field trips and outside learning. The rest of the days are for family learning. We will serve children age 5-11. We have a strong academic focus with an emphasis on keeping children engaged in learning through multiple modes of teaching. This school year the cost is $160 per month through May. Supply Fee TBD. INFORMATIONAL MEETING DECEMBER 8, 2007 2:30pm-3:00pm at COMMUNITY ARTS CENTER.

Veteran special educator and homeschool mother with special education degree and 15 years experience teaching children with learning disabilities.
