A collegue and I are currently considering opening our own school specializing in dyslexia, dysgraphia, mild ADD and mild autism. I am certified k-6th and have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. My collegue is teaching high school and has taught numerous years in a private Christian school as well as homeschooled her own 2 children. We are looking for anyone who would be interested in coming aboard as perhaps a teacher for the middle grades or social studies/science for all grades.

I am a graduate from USF with a bachelors in inance. But tutored through school in enjoyed teaching more! I will begin my career in education, this August, as a fourth grade elementary teacher in Ocala. I have tutored all subjects in grades Pre-K to 10th. Do you know a child who loves to sing?

Welcome to the wonderful world of children singing! The goal of the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus is to introduce and develop a love of artistic singing in the children of the First Coast. Through the rehearsal and performance of music representing many cultures and styles, our world is enriched and expanded. It is our hope that your experience in the JCC will bring rich and lasting memories to you and your family.

The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus is divided into three choir sections: The Lyric Choir, Treble Choir and Concert Choir. The 2006-2007 season will run from September and end by early May. Rehearsals are held one time weekly from 5:15p.m. to 7:15p.m. on either Tuesdays or Thursdays depending on choir placement. Lyric and Treble Choir rehearsals take place at LaVilla School of the Arts, 501 N. Davis Street, and Concert Choir rehearsals take place at Southside United Methodist Church, 3120 Hendricks Avenue.

While prior musical training is not necessary to participate in Jacksonville Children’s Chorus, an audition is required. Children will be placed in the appropriate choir group based on their skills, maturity and readiness.

You do not need to bring a prepared audition piece. The audition process is quick and simple. A conductor will listen for the singer’s ability to match pitches, to learn a simple tune, and to hold one’s voice part against others.
