I am a gramd mother of two very bright students. One is a 9th grader(Joseph) and Jacob is a 7th grader. Their parents are in the middle of a very messy divorce and both boys have asked to come home with me. I live in Moncks corner sc. They are currently in a private school and are in advanced studies.
Both Joseph and Jacob are very bright but the emotional toll is beginning to show both in and out of school. I have spoken with both parents about the negative conotations their argurments are having on the children. At this point I do not know whether they well even agree to let me bring them home. I want the children to continue learning at their current rate but to experience more of an education that just school. Their current school does provide this but their grades are falling and to most people it us just an excuse. Can you help me with some information?

I am a former social worker, parent and now a realtor. However, I am now trying to help a friend who is in need of homeschooling. Her child is a fifteen year old with ADHD with a processing disorder. She is looking for a teacher who teaches the Orton-Gillinghan method. She will pay for a full time home school teacher, they reside in Mt. Pleasant.
