We are all trained in Orton Gillingham Basic and Advanced courses. We all hold certificates from a Fellow in the society. We teach children from reading readiness (phonological awareness) to college level. We offer written expression, reading comprehension, math (all levels), SAT and ACT prep. We also have home school support where there is a maximum of three students in a class.

I am the mother of five daughters and have homeschooled since 1989. My oldest two did not have any public education until college, though the third and fourth daughters successfully transitioned into public school. I am getting ready to start "formally" homeschooling my youngest this fall when she turns five, though we have never used much formal curriculum. I would call my approach a blend of Charlotte Mason, unit studies and notebooking methods and always pulled together or wrote my own curriculum. We were active in starting some of the first support groups back in the late 80's and early 90's and traveled to conferences for several years as reps for Lifetime Books and Gifts, Mastery Publications and Doorposts. It is exciting for me to see how much more is available since we first started 18 years ago! It is also quite exciting to be home educating for the very first time without having other children around to distract us :-). My challenge with this daughter is homeschooling while working full-time with our family's cosmetic company. I am always happy to help beginning homeschoolers any way I can, as much as my time allows.

Christian Homemaker, Mother of three (daughter 10, son 5, daughter 2 1/2), homeschooled eldest daughter half of this year but just put her back in school. Still teaching other two at home. I didn't feel that I was giving eldest child what she needed (ie projects, foreign language, etc.). My heart says to homeschool everyone but honestly I feel overwhelmed with children, housework and being the educator.

We are a Christian homeschool co-op from K4 thru 12th grade. Our teachers are accredited teachers who now homeschool or long time homeschoolers. I teach for student understanding always! I tend to avoid calculators as much as possible and seek to instill in students the process of problem solving.
