We are all trained in Orton Gillingham Basic and Advanced courses. We all hold certificates from a Fellow in the society. We teach children from reading readiness (phonological awareness) to college level. We offer written expression, reading comprehension, math (all levels), SAT and ACT prep. We also have home school support where there is a maximum of three students in a class.

Hello, I am home schooling my two children in Statesville NC. I have a preschooler who is 5 (little boy) and my daughter who is in 4th grade. We are looking to gather/meet other home schooled children at the big park nearby. Even if its an hour a week during the school day or something. I currently take my children there for their outdoor play time ( to get exercise) and would like to have other parents w/ home schooled children to meet there as well during that hour. And also, we could plan other field trips together if possible.

Hi, I have a 9yr old son who has had problems focusing in school since kindergarten. He gets distracted very easily by anything that is going on around him. He needs help mainly in reading/writing & comprehension and some math (He knows it but like I said, lacks FOCUS). My ex husband refuses to see that he has a SERIOUS problem (I've been told that it's possibly ADD - not ADHD). He has him in Sylvan now, but I dont think he's going to make it to 4th. This upsets me tremendously, we have had him tutored for the past 2.5 years. It helps at that time but over the summer he reverts back. I am looking to find a teacher or another parent that is interested in homeschooling him (for maybe the next year or 2). I truly believe that 1 on 1 is what he needs. I am a community counselor, former school guidance counselor, who has homeschooled students, I\'ve nannied, and tutored. While working in a local church, with children of all ages, for the past 5 years, and reorganizing my community counseling profession, I\'m looking for part-time, or temporary work teaching, or tutoring. I spent 3 years, as an educational graphic designer for an Educational Biological Corporation, have a passion for Geology, and all sciences. My B.S. is in Psychology, which required courses in Biology, and Chemistry. My B.F.A. is in Fine Art and Design, a great motivator in learning science through projects, and My M.A. is in School, and Community Counseling.

I live a few miles from Gems Science in Concord, NC. I also love to tutor/teach History, and Social sciences, or any Art/Art History, including Philosophy. Have experience tutoring in a creative writing lab, and have taught Abeka Math and Language/Phonics ages 4-7. Great with behavioral problems, and children with disabilities.
