French Language Teacher
In my instruction I use the interactive and dynamic French language learning method from CLE-International. This method is widely recognized and successfully used in the elementary schools throughout Europe. It introduces language structures and vocabulary progressively in a diverse range of entertaining contexts. The main emphasis of the instruction is on developing children’s listening, comprehension and speaking skills.
I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, where I graduated from a French High School and the Sofia University "Kliment Ohridski" with MA degrees in Psychology and French. I am also fluent in four other languages (Greek, Russian, Italian and English) and have had an extensive and long-term experience as a teacher, interpreter and translator in foreign languages in Sofia, Bulgaria and Athens, Greece. I have lived in the United States since 2001 and have been teaching French to children in several Chesterfield County Public elementary schools in their enrichment programs and as a private tutor in my home. I am fully aware of the benefits of early second language learning and I am an enthusiastic advocate of exposing young children to a second language and culture. I am energetic, creative and I have the ability to successfully interact with children in a learning environment.
