The King is the Thing is a unique chess club which teaches important life skills through chess instruction. Along with step-by-step lessons in the fundamentals of chess, children will learn how God's Word can help us make "all the right moves" in our daily lives.

The King is the Thing is designed for children ages 8-12, with or without previous experience in chess. The club meets on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:00 at Fellowship Bible Church, located at 109 New Amwell Road in Hillsborough. The eight club sessions will be held on May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, and June 7, 14, 21. The program is absolutely free, although space is limited and registration is therefore encouraged.

I hold a PA certification in elementary education. After spending over 20 years in a classroom, I realized that I now prefer working with individual students or small groups rather than in a classroom setting. We are a Kodokan Judo martial arts program. Judo is an official Olympic Sport, and involves no kicking or punching of any kind. We offer training for ages 8 to Adult. We also offer special training in association with the United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) in Blind Judo for visually impaired students.

Fees are extremely reasonable at only $50 for 8-Weeks / 16 Classes.... We are a 501c3 Non Profit Club!

The American Hornbook Company produces laminated two-sided fact guides for students in all subject areas and multiculturalism. Using national and state standards as guidelines, the hornbooks provide students with the "need to know" facts to get them to the next level.
