Our Lady of the Way Homeschool Academy offers academic assistance to homeschooling parents and their children, always with a view to strengthening the parent's role as first educators of their children. All services can be developed for use in-person, in an on-line classroom, by telephone, or by fax or e-mail. In furtherance of our goal, The Academy provides: *tutoring to individual students and groups of students, *lectures and lecture series for students or adults, *specialized seminars or courses for adults, *representation before the local school district, *referal to other educational publishers and services whose vision correspond to this parent-centered, student-focused model.

I am homeschooling my 8 year old son, and am considering homeschooling my 10 year old as well next year. Am interested in finding people preferably in the Niskayuna or Schenectady, New York area who might consider forming a cooperative homeschool. I am new to this idea but if I continue to homeschool in the upper grades this might come in handy. Does anyone do this already? Is anyone interested in forming one? Any feedback would be helpful.

I am home schooling my son, Ethan (age 6 - 1st grade). He's studying all the req'd subjects in an awesome way, reading WAY beyond the 1st grade level, and flying through his lessons! Plus he's learning french, spanish, sign language, dance, drama and manual drafting this year! We're really excited to be teaming up for his education.

I am home schooling my son for first grade. We are in serious need of more interaction with other children near his age and families.
Also, I would love to teach your child for you if you cannot. The IHIP that I wrote completely myself was reviewed by a retired Elementary Teacher and she was VERY impressed. This year, we are studying the four basics: math, english, science and social studies, as well as french, spanish, sign language, music, creative arts, drama, manual drafting, dance, and yoga. I am also a Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor AND I have the complete teaching curriculum for the Indigo Dreams program for children, which teaches meditation and "anger management" to children.
Lastly, I have written a children's book about my son who gets "the grouchies" one day (illustrated as little nasty faerie-like creatures that stimulate his outbursts), then he recalls hearing mom lead her yoga students with a guided meditation and visualizes lying on the beach, feeling the ocean waves taking away "the grouchies."
We need friends to share our educational experience with.

I am a certified Massachusetts teacher, seeking students to tutor. My certification is in Moderate Special Needs (Pre K – grade 8)with a minor in Reading. I have taught Kindergarten and was placed in grades 1st through 6th, although I am comfortable working with students up to 12th grade.
