Mother of six children ages 4-18, and homeschooling the last three, I hope to learn much more about Cottage Schools from this web sight. It is my hope to offer subjects to other homeschool families out of my home following the Cottage School model for a while and eventually open a private independent school operated by lay Catholics.

I am a New York state certified, tenured teacher with a masters in early childhood. I have sixteen years experience with a teaching background and proficiancy in nursery school, kindergarten, first grade, fourth grade, fifth grade and sixth grade. My wish for every student is that they learn "how to be their own person". Individuals able to do the "right" thing. I recieved my Masters at C.W. Post where I received the Distinguished Performance Award in Early Childhood. My BS, in Education was received at SUNY Oneonta. I mentored several student teachers from Dowling College. My experiences included designing and presenting various workshops to staff, including utilizing positive reinforcement in discipline, cooperative learning, writers workshop, and "Math Their Way". I had the unique experience of teaching at a school that recieved the National Recognition Award in Education (Moriches Elementary). I have two children, a girl age 15, and a boy age 12. Through the understanding and perspective that I expect of my children's learning experience, I would no less provide to the children of others'. This above all else is the teaching ideal I wish to project for every student who comes across my path.

Our schedules are flexible to accommodate your family's lifestyle. We find students work best wherever they feel the most comfortable, so we provide in-center programs or we are prepared to come to your home if the student would feel more comfortable.

Our Programs



Excel Tutoring, LLC's tutors have access to a variety of effective learning resources and materials available at our learning center. We have a comprehensive reading, writing, and mathematics curriculum designed to help students learn and improve their academic skills at any level.



At the beginning of the program, the director and tutors will determine if students will use their own school materials or take advantage of the materials we have at our center. In some cases it is suggested that parents purchase workbooks that targets their child's academic weaknesses.
