St. Gregory's is a classical, Catholic homeschool cooperative that meets on Thursdays for 30 weeks during the school year and offers classes in Latin, writing, history and science. We meet at the historic St. John church in Orange, NJ drawing families throughout Northern New Jersey - Union, Essex, Hudson, Somerset, Morris, Passaic, Bergen and Sussex Counties. Classes start in September and run through May.

My 4.5 yr old daughter is set to enter kindergarten in the fall. I am heavily considering homeschooling her provided it is with a group of four or five other kids. We have one other family firmly committed and another is on the fence. The plan is to share a teacher. We need help--where to begin?!

A hornbook was the 1st schoolbook in colonial times. It gave students the foundation to learn. Covenant Classical Academy is a new school in Somerset County with plans to open its doors in Fall of 2008 with grammer and dialetic grades along with homeschool courses. A thoroughly Christian Worldview will be taught through all disciplines following the classical model.

We are currently in need of (possibly volunteer?) full time teachers, and part time teachers of Latin, Art and middle school Science.

The King is the Thing is a unique chess club which teaches important life skills through chess instruction. Along with step-by-step lessons in the fundamentals of chess, children will learn how God's Word can help us make "all the right moves" in our daily lives.

The King is the Thing is designed for children ages 8-12, with or without previous experience in chess. The club meets on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:00 at Fellowship Bible Church, located at 109 New Amwell Road in Hillsborough. The eight club sessions will be held on May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, and June 7, 14, 21. The program is absolutely free, although space is limited and registration is therefore encouraged.

I have sixteen years experience with a teaching background and proficiancy in nursery school, kindergarten, first grade, fourth grade, fifth grade and sixth grade. My wish for every student is that they learn "how to be their own person". Individuals able to do the "right" thing. I recieved my Masters at C.W. Post where I received the Distinguished Performance Award in Early Childhood. My BS, in Education was received at SUNY Oneonta. I mentored several student teachers from Dowling College. My experiences included designing and presenting various workshops to staff, including utilizing positive reinforcement in discipline, cooperative learning, writers workshop, and "Math Their Way". I had the unique experience of teaching at a school that recieved the National Recognition Award in Education (Moriches Elementary). I have two children, a girl age 15, and a boy age 12. Through the understanding and perspective that I expect of my children's learning experience, I would no less provide to the children of others'. This above all else is the teaching ideal I wish to project for every student who comes across my path.

The American Hornbook Company produces laminated two-sided fact guides for students in all subject areas and multiculturalism. Using national and state standards as guidelines, the hornbooks provide students with the "need to know" facts to get them to the next level. Level 1 is geared to elementary students, Level 2 for middle school students.
